BOSTON – Massachusetts has emerged as a frontrunner in women’s health across the United States, according to a recent report.
In an era where women’s health faces increasing challenges, including rising preventable deaths and tightening restrictions on reproductive healthcare nationwide, the Commonwealth Fund has introduced a state scorecard to monitor women’s health trends. This scorecard evaluates factors such as healthcare quality, prevention, coverage, access, and affordability.
Massachusetts has achieved the top ranking in overall women’s health system performance, as per the findings of the Commonwealth Fund. Following closely behind are neighboring states Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New Hampshire, all of which are located in New England. Conversely, states in the Southeast and Southwest rank lowest in the assessment.
The report underscores Massachusetts’ leadership in fostering a robust healthcare environment for women, contrasting starkly with trends observed in other parts of the country.
